Vanilla Beans Detail
Indonesian Vanilla Beans
Vanilla beans Indonesia wholesale supplier and exporter. Vanilla, Vanilla Beans or Vanilla Pods commonly known as “Vanili” in Indonesia. The beans are hand-picked and then cured, wrapped, and dried in a process that takes 4 to 6 months. There are many varieties of vanilla beans such as Vanilla Planifolia, Vanilla Tahitensis, and Vanilla Pompona. But there is also Tahitian Vanilla, Mexican Vanilla and Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla. It is specific only for region. The best quality is grown in tropical country which climate is also in Indonesia. Indo Spice is producing its own Vanilla Planifolia. We have our plantation located in northern part of Bali island, Indonesia.
Vanilla Planifolia
The first flat-leaf vanilla, is the one most people are familiar with that Vanilla Planifolia is the ancestral vanilla variety that first grew in Central America and spread to other countries. If you’ve ever bought and cooked with bourbon vanilla beans, you’ve got vanilla in your hands.
Bourbon Vanilla or Planifolia?
The term “bourbon” applied to vanilla is a history lesson in itself. Vanilla cuttings have spread to the tropics, and gardeners in France and England have struggled to pollinate vanilla plants to produce vanilla beans, a process that has historically been facilitated by a small bee in Central America, where vanilla originated. However, on a small French island near Madagascar, a 12-year-old slave boy began the grueling practice of hand-pollinating vanilla flowers.
The young Edmond Albius made possible the propagation of the vanilla bean on his native island, originally called the Ile de Bourbon. As the practice of hand pollination spread to nearby Madagascar, the vanilla bean became known as bourbon. So Bourbon Vanilla Bean is Vanilla Planifolia, revered for its high vanillin content and pure vanilla flavor that we love so much.
What is Vanilla Tahitensis?
Vanilla Tahitensis or Tahitian according to its origin is the same varieties. There is some disagreement about the exact origin of the second vanilla variety, Vanilla Tahitensis. Describes this vanilla strain as a “close relative of Planifolia,” and it’s not entirely clear whether it was a deliberate or unintentional hybrid. Everyone agrees that the strain was native to Tahiti and is still grown there today.
Explained that the ripening process for Tahitian vanilla beans is slightly different than other vanilla-producing regions. The beans are harvested and left to sit for 5 to 10 days, then bathed in water and exposed to the sun for a few hours each morning and covered in the afternoon. As the beans dry out, smooth them out and smooth them out with a hand massage.
Tahitian Vanilla Content
Tahitian vanilla does not contain as much vanillin as planifolia, which has a more floral and delicate taste. Tahitian vanilla flavor breaks down faster when heated, making it ideal for cold food cooking such as refrigerated or frozen meals. Beanilla adds that Tahitian vanilla is also revered for its use in fragrances.
